Runtimes

The Polkadot Deployment Portal allows users to choose which Polkadot Native Rollup Runtime to start with. Each Runtime contains the necessary operations to get the Polkadot Native Rollup running. These runtimes are offered in conjunction with OpenZeppelin, a leader in blockchain security.

In addition to the functionality provided by the chosen Runtime, each PDP Runtime includes:

• Native cross-chain transfers to other Polkadot Native Rollups.
• Decentralized bridge to Ethereum powered by Snowbridge.
• Fast finality powered by Polkadot Cloud.
• Access to centralized exchanges and custodians via Polkadot Hub.

Generic Runtime

The Generic Runtime provides the basic operations needed for your Polkadot Native Rollup, including token transfers and a SUDO account for on-chain operations. It also includes a treasury for your project right out of the box.

EVM Runtime

The EVM Runtime builds on top of the Generic Runtime, making your Polkadot Native Rollup fully EVM-compatible.
